Job Full Description

Position: Certified Welding Inspector

Industry: Aerospace

Compensation: $26-$30/hr +

Shift: 1st

Location: Eastgate, OH

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years of welding and inspection experience or equivalent training
  • Valid Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from AWS; ability to maintain certification through continuing education
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and welding specifications
  • Excellent communication and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office; AWS code endorsements preferred (D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6)
Responsibilities:
  • Perform internal and external inspections to ensure weldments meet applicable codes, standards, drawings, and contract requirements
  • Interpret welding codes and specifications; document and report acceptance or rejection of weld quality, including proper handling of nonconforming parts
  • Approve and recommend repairs, enforce compliance by stopping work when standards are not met, and ensure adherence to quality and safety guidelines
  • Maintain records of welder qualifications, WPS certifications, and inspection data; support process improvements and assist in training production welders
