Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform inspections and non-destructive testing of welds in accordance with industry standards and project requirements. This role ensures compliance with welding procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards while collaborating with engineering and project teams to resolve welding-related issues. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in demanding industrial environments.

 

Job Description

  • Perform visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds in accordance with AWS, ASME, and project-specific standards.
  • Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications.
  • Monitor welding operations to ensure compliance with approved procedures and safety regulations.
  • Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, quality assurance teams, and contractors to resolve welding-related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to power plant safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for welding defects and recommend corrective actions.

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in welding inspection, preferably in power plant or heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, API, and other relevant standards.
  • Familiarity with various welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) and materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in challenging environments, including elevated structures and confined spaces.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential from AWS (American Welding Society) required.

Pay Rate/Salary
