CFD analysis wind turbine - Sep24 - REMOTE - 0503

We are looking for someone experienced in CFD analysis to initially help with a quotation for this project and later to work on the project on computational fluid dynamics analysis for a number of turbine configurations.

Scope:

A 2-dimensional computational fluid dynamics analysis for a number of turbine configurations will be performed, mainly:

• Start by modelling a single turbine at the operational wind speed of 10 m/s for a TSR of 2.5, 3, 3.5
• Model 2 turbines (using the existing geometry) at 45 deg to the operational wind direction at the preferred TSR, at a spacing between the turbine centres of 1.25D, 2D, 3D, 4D. If needed, Model 2 turbines (using the existing geometry) at 45 deg to the operational wind direction at the preferred TSR at the approximate optimum spacing (e.g. 2D and 3D yield the best so we try 2.5D)
• Model 2 turbines (using the existing geometry) at 0, 30, 60, 90 deg to the operational wind direction at the approximate optimum spacing and preferred TSR
• Increase to 3 turbines using the optimum spacing in a triangular formation

A final report detailing all findings, along with the model files and analysis data generated is to be submitted

Additionally, can the following items be quoted for separately, as they may be added to the above configurations list:

• Increase to 5 turbines using the optimum spacing in a pentagon formation
• 3-dimensional modelling of a single turbine at the operational wind speed to determine thrust loads
