The role involves analyzing building infrastructure—power and cooling systems—to ensure continuous operation.LocationsNew York, NY; Troy, NY; Atlanta, GA; Milwaukee, WI; Tempe, AZ; Herndon, VA.Your ImpactUtilize CFD tools to solve physics‑based problems related to indoor and outdoor building flows, thermal comfort, contaminant dispersion, and condensation controls.Improve existing analytical capabilities by developing and applying best practices, automating processes, and streamlining workflows.Maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge of computational fluid dynamics research in the building mechanical field through proactive study.Document, report, and present engineering solutions to design teams and clients.Work independently while coordinating with other engineering disciplines and project managers.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.At least 3 years of relevant work experience.Strong knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Building Mechanical Systems.Ability to deliver quality work within deadlines.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree.Demonstrated experience with CFD analysis software (FloEFD, STAR CCM+, Fluent, FDS, OpenFOAM, 6SigmaRoom).Experience writing User Defined Functions (UDF) for commercial software.Programming experience in Python, C++, or Java.Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, planning, organizing, decision‑making, and time‑management skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills for presenting research findings.Strong drive for results and continuous improvement.Compensation and BenefitsExpected Salary: $91,000 – $129,000WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings.
