 Location: Santa Clarita, CA
 Weekly Pay Rate:$1,900 – $2,500 DOE

Overview
A premier high‑performance motorsport engineering organization is seeking an experienced CFD Combustion Engineer with deep expertise in mathematical modeling of internal combustion engines—particularly in ignition physics, reaction kinetics, and knock prediction. As part of our Simulation Group, you will prepare, execute, and analyze advanced combustion CFD simulations. This role offers a high degree of autonomy and technical ownership.

Key Responsibilities
  • CFD Simulation: Configure and run combustion CFD simulations using in‑house Linux cluster systems.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Interpret simulation results and present clear, actionable findings for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Automation: Develop scripts, macros, and tools to enhance automated CFD workflows and improve simulation efficiency.
  • Method Development: Create and refine novel techniques to address complex fluid‑dynamic and combustion‑related challenges.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and cross‑disciplinary teams to support program goals and system‑level integration.
  • Test Definition & Validation: Specify instrumentation and test methods for acquiring validation data.
  • Technical Communication: Prepare detailed technical presentations for engineering design reviews and project milestones.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5–7 years

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Technical Skills & Experience:
  • Proficiency with CONVERGE CFD, with several years of hands‑on experience (or equivalent CFD tools).
  • Demonstrated excellence in engine combustion modeling, including detailed chemical kinetics.
  • Strong experience with direct injector spray modeling, particularly in pre‑mix combustion applications.
  • Solid understanding of advanced combustion concepts, challenges, and enabling technologies.
  • Experience working in a Linux HPC environment.
  • Strong documentation practices and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, work autonomously, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Mature, responsible, and able to lead development efforts within a collaborative team environment.
Desirable Skills
  • Working knowledge of Star‑CCM+ and CATIA V5.
  • Programming capability in MATLAB, Java, and Python.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and optimization workflows (HEEDS, iSight).
  • Understanding of Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) and FEA simulation processes.

Additional Attributes
  • Flexible working style and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working in a fast‑paced motorsport environment.
