CBIZ Talent Solutions is assisting our client, a construction manufacturing company based in southeast Florida, in their search for a Chief Financial Officer.
The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for the financial health of the business including oversight of the accounting and finance teams. At a high level, the CFO will manage liquidity, expenses, monitor revenue and cash flow, financial planning, and risk. The CFO will work closely with executive leadership as a trusted partner on the vision, strategic road map, and overall execution of the company. This role will be in the office 4-5 days a week in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and manage the objectives for the Finance Department and implement best practices and tools
- Build and manage a dynamic team to support the current business and scale for the growth ahead
- Manage and oversee all the financial affairs for the organization and ensure compliance with all accounting practices, lender covenants, and other policies and procedures.
- Oversee financial IT systems and processes to ensure accurate revenue collection, expense payment, and financial statement recognition, maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory entities
- Lead and continuously evaluate and monitor capital planning and allocation of funds to ensure the company has the right funding and controls to allocate those funds.
- Lead (either directly or via staff) all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy and hiring needs
- Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization
- Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as formal and informal financial and operational reporting
- Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments; and lead, evaluate, and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives
- Work in partnership with the CEO and the leadership team to research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.
- Lead strategy, valuation, and negotiations for mergers and acquisitions and the establishment of new divisions within the company
- Lead strategies for financing, liquidity and currency risk
- Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings calls, management team, and rest of company
- Develop relationship with other key partners at the Lenders (domestic and international), suppliers and vendors.
Education and Experience
- 5-10 years prior CFO experience is required in privately owned companies (including private equity backed)
- Excellent leadership, communication and partnering skills, with steadfast resolve and impeccable personal integrity
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills in English and Spanish
- Ability to effectively manage a remote team while driving productivity, engagement and results
- Understanding of capital raising, mastery of GAAP accounting, treasury, international, currency hedging, manufacturing and regulatory issues are a plus, and some tax planning experience is helpful
- Bachelors or Masters degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting or finance, CPA is preferred
- Dealing with the complexities of an international operation
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions
- Experience with international banking
- Experience in construction materials manufacturing is preferred
