Staff Chaplain - 24hr Rotating - BWH Spiritual Care Services
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required, and Graduate Diploma Related Field of Study preferred
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
No
Licenses and Credentials
Four or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education from an accredited training program, ACPE preferred.
Preference for candidates who are board certified chaplains with APC, NAJC, or NACC.
Experience
Experience in a hospital/healthcare setting or relevant spiritual, ministry, pastoral, congregational or other experience 2-3 years required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of various religious practices, health care ethics, behavioral health, trauma informed care, crisis response, and grief and bereavement counseling techniques with patients and families
Ability to work independently and excellent organizational skills
Proficient at documenting encounters in a patient’s electronic medical records and using Microsoft Suite Programming
Proficient at multitasking and have a high level of problem-solving skills.
Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
