Chaplain, Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital (2663)

Provides spiritual care support and guidance to patients, families and staff. Attends to the spiritual needs of patients according to their defined beliefs. These may include prayer, religious services, sacraments, or others as expressed by patient. Participates in various groups representing chaplaincy, such as policy and procedure review and ethics forums

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care, counseling, crisis intervention, and grief support to patients and families.
• Assess and address spiritual and emotional needs as part of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Document chaplain services accurately and timely.
• Participate in care planning, education, committees, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Strong counseling, communication, and crisis-intervention skills.
• Ability to establish rapport, provide empathy and support, and maintain professional boundaries.
• Ability to respectfully support individuals of diverse spiritual beliefs and backgrounds.
• Demonstrated emotional and spiritual maturity

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Theology, Divinity, Religious Studies, or Religious Education from an accredited institution.
• Ordained or formally authorized by a recognized religious/ecclesiastical organization.
• Certification or eligibility for certification through a recognized chaplaincy organization preferred.
• Minimum of one year of clinical pastoral experience, such as Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
• Experience providing spiritual care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
