Administering professional counseling and pastoral care to both residents and employees by being creative and sensitive to the emotional, spiritual, and sound aspects of their lives.
What you'll be doing:
- Demonstrate leadership by ensuring that accountability and Pacific Retirement Services’ (PRS) Core Values—excellence, innovation, integrity, stewardship, compassion, and collaboration—are ingrained into all aspects of your role.
- Coordinate in the offering of devotional and other meaningful opportunities.
- Coordinate the meeting of ritual and sacramental needs.
- Assist as needed in the coordination and guidance of spiritual care volunteers.
- Deliver and/or arrange for appropriate spiritual or pastoral care to residents, their loved ones, and employees in specific areas of the organization or to particular faith groups.
- Respond to requests for spiritual care in a timely manner. Refer to appropriate resources if you cannot meet the individual need.
- Support and promote spiritual care, community, and educational opportunities on campus.
About you:
- 1+ year of experience in spiritual care, chaplaincy, or related social services role with a focus on empathetic listening and non-directive support.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., religious studies, social work, counseling, psychology); MDiv and/or CPE units preferred.
- Demonstrates an inclusive, interfaith approach that respects and supports all spiritual, religious, and secular perspectives.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a genuine commitment to supporting individuals through life events, transitions, and daily experiences.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills, including documentation, reporting, and managing multiple priorities.
