    • 5 years pastoral ministry experience required

    • Endorsement by a recognized faith community and/or ordination by a recognized faith community

    • Those already hired without CPE must complete unit-based competency validations and mandatory trainings within 18 months of hire

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 2 years' experience in hospital setting preferred

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred

    • Master's of Divinity from a seminary accredited by the Association of Theological Schools preferred or a similarly credentialed accrediting agency, or its equivalent as determined by the Association of Professional Chaplains

    • Clinical Pastoral Education (1 unit preferred)

    The Chaplain responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Visits newly admitted patients and their families to offer support and spiritual assistance
    • Responds to all calls for chaplaincy services including crisis calls, requests for patients and families and referrals from hospital staff
    • Provides spiritual care and support to patients/families and staff as needed and/or requested
    • Collaborates and works cooperatively with physicians, nurse case managers and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team
    • Documents the spiritual care provided in the appropriate records
    • Reports to assigned Supervisor, Manager, or Director
    • This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information. Normal office conditions
