The Chaplain Resident will learn skills needed to be a clinical Chaplain within the Spiritual Care Department at PIH Health. To maintain residency, students must complete consecutive CPE units and continue their participation in the CPE program.

Required Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least one year of completed graduate theological education.
  • Chaplain Residents must be accepted into the ACPE Certified CPE program by the CPE Certified Educator. 

Preferred:

  • M.Div. or other master’s degree in theology, pastoral care, or equivalent education
  • One completed unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
