Charge Capture Associate (Outpatient)-San Luis Obispo-CA-14806-Pay Negotiable

Job Summary

Reviews, analyzes, and coordinates Charge Master activities while supporting revenue cycle operations. Accurately enters outpatient charges into the billing system and performs charge entry functions within established guidelines, procedures, and defined parameters.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred

• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience: Preferred

• Charge entry billing experience in a healthcare setting: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Refer to the Required Licenses and Certifications list for additional job and/or unit-specific requirements.

Required Skills:

• Refer to Job Analysis #05A for additional ability requirements.

Essential Functions

• Collaborates with departments to code billable items for reimbursement.

• Works with appropriate staff to obtain required information for billable items.

• Balances charge summaries to encounter forms before updating charges.

• Keeps the supervisor informed of issues related to charge entry activities.

• Reviews reports and software edits to identify required revisions and coordinates with appropriate departments.

• Coordinates projects and audits to improve revenue cycle processes, charging and billing efficiency, and collection efforts.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
