Levindale, a nationally recognized 330-bed post-acute care and specialty hospital, is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse (RN) to provide clinical leadership within our Household Model of Care. Our Households offer a home-like environment where residents receive personalized, relationship-centered long-term care focused on dignity, independence, and quality of life.

As a Charge Nurse, you will serve as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality resident care. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, support staff development, coordinate daily operations, and help foster a positive culture of teamwork and excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct patient care while leading and supporting nursing staff.
  • Coordinate daily clinical operations and resident care activities.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
  • Monitor resident conditions, identify changes, and respond appropriately to clinical concerns.
  • Assist with staffing coordination and patient throughput activities.
  • Conduct patient rounds, chart reviews, and compliance monitoring.
  • Support staff education, onboarding, competency validation, and professional development.
  • Participate in performance management and employee coaching.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, resident satisfaction, and teamwork.
  • Lead and respond to emergency situations while maintaining unit operations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Current Maryland RN License or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation, or Geriatric Care.
  • Strong clinical assessment, leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Previous Charge Nurse, Team Lead, or Supervisory experience.
  • Long-Term Care or Geriatric Nursing experience.
  • Nursing specialty certification or willingness to obtain certification within 3–5 years.
