    Get to Know Your Team:

    • Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a womens imaging center, and an ICU.

    Responsibilities

    • The NICU Charge Nurse serves as the clinical and operational leader for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit during the assigned shift, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill and high-risk newborns.
    • This role provides direct oversight of daily patient care operations, staff coordination, resource allocation, patient flow, and clinical decision-making while serving as the primary clinical resource for the interdisciplinary team.
    • The Charge Nurse partners with the Nurse Manager/ Director of Womens Services, neonatologists, obstetric providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and ancillary departments to promote evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and exceptional patient experiences. Responsibilities include coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges; responding to neonatal emergencies and high-risk deliveries; mentoring and coaching nursing staff; ensuring appropriate staffing and productivity; supporting performance improvement initiatives; and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
