Charge Registered Nurse (Charge RN)
Job Summary:
Provides leadership and clinical oversight for nursing staff while delivering direct patient care. Coordinates daily unit operations, assigns patient care responsibilities, supports staff, and ensures safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote efficient workflow and positive patient outcomes.
Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required according to facility policy.
Previous Charge Nurse and acute care nursing experience preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate and supervise daily nursing operations and patient care activities.
Provide direct patient care while serving as a clinical resource for nursing staff.
Assign patient care responsibilities and support workflow management.
Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes requiring clinical intervention.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection prevention guidelines.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and emergency situations.
Mentor, support, and provide guidance to nursing staff.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
