Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Onsite Engineering Coordinator / Chassis Design Engineer to support Honda Chassis Development projects. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on CATIA V5/V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE design experience, along with 5+ years of automotive product development experience, particularly in chassis systems. This role will coordinate onsite and offshore engineering teams, review design deliverables, support vehicle packaging and layout development. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Job Responsibilities

Serve as the primary onsite liaison between Honda engineering teams and offshore design resources.
Coordinate and monitor engineering activities, schedules, deliverables, and resource utilization.
Mentor PSEs and review layouts, 3D models, 2D drawings, and countermeasure proposals.
Design and support development of chassis components, including suspension, steering, brakes, subframes, wheels, engine mounts, and fuel systems.
Create and review 3D models, 2D drawings, and 3D annotated drawings using CATIA V5/V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE.
Support packaging studies, feasibility reviews, DPM activities, and layout issue resolution.
Perform and review engineering calculations and support basic CAE/FEA activities.
Manage engineering documentation, BOMs, drawing notes, title blocks, and related data.
Track project schedules, identify risks, and escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders.
Lead engineering status meetings and performance reviews with onsite/offshore teams.
Collaborate with Honda Chiefs, Technical Experts, PICs, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Ensure designs meet Honda engineering standards, quality requirements, and development processes.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering quality and productivity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of automotive product design and development experience.
Strong hands-on CATIA design experience; CATIA expertise is a critical requirement.
Proficiency in CATIA V5, CATIA V6, and/or 3DEXPERIENCE.
Strong chassis design experience in one or more areas:Suspension
Steering
Brakes
Subframes
Wheels
Engine mounts
Fuel systems
Experience with automotive packaging, layouts, feasibility studies, and engineering changes.
Experience coordinating or leading onsite/offshore engineering teams.
Knowledge of DPM management and engineering documentation processes.
Familiarity with FEA, CAE fundamentals, and design validation.
Strong communication, presentation, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with offshore engineering teams and customer stakeholders.
Experience with Honda development processes is highly preferred.
Candidates already authorized to work in the U.S. and able to start by the end of August are strongly preferred.
