About the role
Supports a base group of client accounts by managing a team and or clients, expediting their shipments from start to finish by development of familiarity with their import programs and products; through and understanding of Customs regulations and international transportation; by coordinating file processing with team members and other Company work groups. Directs and coordinates superior client service delivery and production activities of defined team within our Customs Brokerage operation. Executes these activities in support of the established Maersk Customs Services policies, goals, and objectives and in full compliance with CBP regulations. Serves as a subject matter expert for existing and new customers on CHB matters. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned which are "client specific" to satisfy special customer needs. These responsibilities are achieved by performance of the following duties personally or through subordinate team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete responsibility for US the import customs brokerage process and superior customer service delivery for defined team within our CHB operation. Sets organizational plans for the team along with owning the overall client experience. Development of complete familiarity with client import programs and set organizational plans for the department on the handling of the specific clients, this includes the following:
Products
Classifications and special customs details as required
Other government agency compliance requirements
Ensuring accurate accounting practices such as client invoicing and job accruals
Specialized client reports as needed
A/R status and collection efforts to ensure optimal cash flow
Carriers & Delivery Requirements as outlined
Client specific needs and requirements
Measure and monitor results of the overall operation against KPI's established regularly and systematically, reports these results to management and holds their direct subordinates accountable
Responsible to ensure that KPIs are, at minimum met, for their assigned accounts through management of their team and support team with entry processing as required
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include driving employee engagement through training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; participation in appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving issues and or exceptions and putting corrective action in place.
Diligent execution of duties in order to comply with Customs Brokers' responsibilities under CFR FR 19, Section 111, Subpart C
Utilize lean management tools to evaluate the team structure and plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, adherence to company procedures and policies.
Performs other position related duties as specified by management
What We Are Looking For:
Operational leadership & service delivery focus: we are looking for someone who can lead day-to-day customs operations with a strong focus on service quality, team performance, and consistent delivery against KPIs.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience; HS Diploma or equivalent required
5-7 years of experience in the industry
2-3 years previous management experience

Should be able to hear and speak clearly using phone / headset to communicate with customers; be able to navigate, view & enter information on the computer. May need to travel, at short notice, across the US & Canada and occasionally overseas.

Job Type: Full Time
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000*
