The role involves ensuring compliance with athletic regulations, managing schedules and equipment, fostering student participation, and collaborating with coaches and district staff to promote a positive athletic environment.Responsibilities Attend OHSAA pre-season meetings.Attend CMSD pre/post season coaches meetings.Understand and follow CMSD/OHSAA guidelines and rules.Attend and arrive promptly to practices and games.Track, communicate, and comply with student eligibility status.Submit roster, schedule, and transportation needs with required paperwork to the head coach and/or athletic director.Distribute, collect, and care for uniforms and equipment.Participate in scheduled professional development by the Athletics Department.Upload scores and statistics to the approved CMSD reporting site.Cooperate with the head coach to implement the vision of the program.Communicate with Central Office regarding forfeited games or seasons for review of payments due to non-fulfillment of season duties.Supervise students before and after practice and competitions.Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators.Communicate effectively with other coaches regarding roles, duties, and responsibilities.Organize practices with purposeful drills and specific objectives.Communicate expectations to athletes in each instructional phase of practice.Demonstrate and teach sport‑specific skills, strategies, and rules.Consistently correct behaviors and performance.Motivate and hold athletes accountable in a constructive manner.Implement a training and conditioning program in the off‑season.Qualifications Valid CPR certificate.Pupil‑activity (coaching) permit from the Ohio Department of Education.Previous coaching experience preferred.Knowledge of technical aspects of the sport/activity and willingness to seek new techniques.Education: Diploma, transcripts, or GED.Successful completion of an FBI/BCI background check and drug screen required.EEO Statement CMSD provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants regardless of race, color, ethnicity, ancestry, national origin, sex, disability, genetic information, age, citizenship status, military status, sexual orientation, socio‑economic status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
