Good food is a cornerstone of exceptional care and a wonderful experience for our residents, families, and staff. Our kitchen is committed to preparing delicious meals from scratch, elevating the dining experience for everyone we serve.

Role Overview:
We seek an enthusiastic, kind, and talented cook to join our team. You will be vital in preparing and serving meals, ensuring our residents receive nutritious and appetizing food. Your culinary skills will enhance our residents' quality of life in our independent senior living community.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will help prepare and cook meals according to the menu under the direction of the executive chef, ensuring all food is prepared safely and in accordance with sanitation standards. You will maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to safety standards as directed by the executive chef. Additionally, you will assist residents who need help with their meals, ensuring they have a pleasant dining experience.

You will help with clean-up, kitchen maintenance, and organizing the dining and kitchen areas. Part of your duties will include taking inventory of food and kitchen supplies. You will assist with organizing weekly orders and follow departmental procedures, including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules. It is essential to report any health or well-being concerns to the executive chef or executive director and to maintain the confidentiality of resident information at all times. Serving meals with care and dignity and meeting the nutritional needs of residents are key aspects of this role. Additionally, you will perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should be comfortable cooking and baking from scratch, as almost 90% of our menu is scratch-made. You must possess a current Food Handler's Permit and have the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisors, and associates. You must provide written proof of a recent TB test or obtain one within two weeks of hire. A positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional service are essential. You should be willing to work cooperatively with supervisors, assist co-workers, and demonstrate compassion and enthusiasm for working with older adults.

Physical Requirements:
You should be able to perform occasional heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs).

Universal Precautions:
While exposure to blood/bodily fluids is unlikely, it is possible.

How to Apply:
If you are passionate about cooking and want to impact our residents' lives positively, we would love to hear from you! Please send your resume and a brief cover letter explaining why you'd be an excellent fit for our team.

Join us and help create memorable dining experiences that nourish body and soul!
