Are you an ambitious Chef de Partie looking for a new job opportunity? We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team! As a Chef de Partie, your main responsibility will be to amaze our guests with your culinary creations.

Inspired by tropical and Latin American cuisine and co-created by nhow Amsterdam, the restaurant Selva is located on the 24th floor of nhow Amsterdam. This rooftop restaurant is opened since September 2023 and has 140 seats, overlooking the city of Amsterdam. Together with the kitchen team, the culinary creations, complemented by the amazing views, you will create the nhow experiences our guests hope for.

What part will you play in creating the unforgettable?

As Selva is inspired by tropical and Latin American cuisine, it is important that our culinary brigade uses traditional and cutting-edge techniques along with seasonal and honest ingredients. The menu consists of traditional Latin American ingredients and recipes such as ceviche, chimichurri, aquachile, picanha, and more. At Selva, we are using a charcoal grill to offer different taste profiles in our menu. As the Chef de Partie in this international environment, you will be responsible for overseeing a particular section of the kitchen.

You will also be responsible for:

• Plan and execute menus in collaboration with other colleagues;
• Always ensure the adequacy of supplies;
• Place orders in a timely manner;
• Manage ingredients that should be frequently available on a daily basis;
• Follow the directions of the kitchen chef and sous chef;
• Develop the junior kitchen team;
• Suggest new ways of presentation of dishes;
• Give attention to the productivity of the kitchen such as speed and food quality;
• Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and hygiene standards.

What makes you the perfect fit for this bold journey?

• Proven experience in a Chef de Partie role or as independently working chef;
• Experience working in a high-pressure kitchens is a must;
• Having experience with Latin American cuisine and cooking with charcoal grills is an advantage;
• Have experience guiding junior kitchen personnel;
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure;
• Open-minded attitude as you will work in open-kitchen and very international team;
• Good level of verbal and written communication in English;
• Knowledge of the latest cooking practices;
• Culinary school diploma is advantage.
