This position will also assist the kitchen staff with the daily upkeep of the facility's kitchen. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Train and assign duties of the kitchen team during the preparation, cooking, and garnishment of food Ensures proper receiving, storage (including temperature setting) and rotation of food products so as to comply with Health Department regulationsAdheres to procedures for cost and quality proceduresCreates and oversees menu itemsSupervises daily and monthly cleaning of walk-ins according to Health Department regulations Reports any equipment in need of repair Cook and prepare foodServes food in proper pre-determined portion sizes and at the correct temperatureMaintains appearance of all equipment and serving countersMaintains inventory in the stock roomCleans kitchen area before and after business hoursScrubs, sanitizes, and stores pots and pans, utensils, and dishesAll other duties assigned by managementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Understand and follow both oral and written instructionsMust be available on weekends, nights, and some weekdaysMust be able to work independently with minimal supervisionEffective time management skillsPrior experience in food industry preferredWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Working environment is fast pacedMust be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds infrequentlyLimited exposure to physical riskLimited physical effort requiredFacility has intermittent noise
