Chemical Lab operator

Overview

Join our dynamic team where you will play a crucial role in supporting our production areas by conducting essential chemical analyses and maintaining lab equipment. This position requires working on rotating 12-hour shifts with some overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support using various lab instruments and techniques.
• Interpret test results against specifications to determine necessary actions.
• Communicate test outcomes promptly and efficiently to production teams.
• Maintain and service lab equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Approve products and raw materials based on documented standards.
• Create and maintain accurate records of all laboratory data.
• Ensure safe operation and qualification of lab equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping duties in the lab area.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of industrial experience in a lab setting.
• Proficiency in using lab equipment, tests, procedures, and methods.
• Basic knowledge of math and chemistry, with familiarity with the metric system.
• Ability to differentiate colors as required for the role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot operational issues.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Good work record with proven job and safety performance history.
• Ability to read and follow instructions to produce quality work safely.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk on hard surfaces such as concrete, steel, and wood.
• Reach with hands and arms above shoulder level.
• Occasional neck flexion, extension, or rotation.
• Ability to bend, squat, and kneel.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to wear and use prescribed personal protective equipment, including face shields.
