Title: Chemical Lab Technician
Location: Monaca, PA 15061 (On-Site Job)
Duration: 6+ Months
Worker Schedule : First week will days Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm and then 2nd would start on the day shift 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. And would not move to the night rotation until they are fully trained. 12 hour rotation shift schedule - 36 hours one week and then 48 hours the next week. Manager will review rotation during the interview.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Using a variety of testing equipment including: GCs, HPLC, FTIR, Spectrophotometers, Viscometers, Ovens, balances, pH meters, Microscopy, LIMS & SAP data systems.
• Conducting analytical testing on emulsion polymerization products and plant waste water in support of In-Process and Finished Goods 24/7 ISO 9001 manufacturing operations.
• Evaluating data versus internal and external specifications
• Evaluating incoming Raw Materials
• Performing bacteria testing
• Interacting with the Supply Chain and Operations departments at the Monaca site to expedite shipments to customers utilizing SAP
• Contributing and adhering to Safety, Environmental, Quality and EEO/AA standards of the Corporation, Division and Site
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s degree in biology or chemistry or 2-year Technical degree in Analytical Testing with a minimum 6+ months of industrial experience in an QA/QC or R&D or Analytical or Environmental laboratory environment OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with minimum 3+ years of relevant industrial lab experience in either a QA/QC or R&D or Analytical or Environmental Laboratory required.
SKILLS:
• Ability to operate various computer-controlled instruments, in addition to a familiarity with personal computers
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, i.e.., Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Knowledge of testing equipment found in laboratory setting, i.e.., GCs, HPLC, FTIRS, Viscometers
• Well-developed analytical methodology and an insight into problem solving.
• Knowledge of SPC
• Detail oriented with the ability to record (via notebook or computer) and report pertinent data
• Organizational skills
• Must be able to achieve a passing score on a pre-placement aptitude test
• On occasion, must be able to lift up to a maximum of 30 lbs.
• Must be able to follow both written procedures and verbal instructions
• Must be able to follow all applicable safety procedures including correct personal protective equipment.
• Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and interact with management and employees within the organization
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime when required
• Good communication skills (oral and written)
• The preferred candidate will have minimum 2+ years’ experience in a lab position of increasing responsibility.
• Experience working in an ISO or GMP compliance driven lab environment
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment on a rotating shift.
• Experience with emulsion polymerization products, laboratory testing and practices.
