Where the chemistry happens…

The role of the Chemical Operator is to provide the labor and expertise to safely manufacture quality chemical products while embracing a zero loss of containment mindset.This includes receiving and handling raw materials, producing chemical products with the aid of manufacturing systems, performing quality assurance tests, and shipping and receiving tasks. The position also involves providing support to the senior maintenance lead and assisting in area preventative maintenance. This position is Monday - Friday 4am - 12noon or 11:30am-7:30pm, depending on needs of the business. Some overtime may be required for shut downs or unexpected circumstances.

During an 8 hour shift:

  • Performs daily / weekly / monthly safety walkthrough and housekeeping inspections.
  • Displays active ownership of a portion of the site safety program & facilitates safety improvements.
  • Supports Safe Work Permitting practices to ensure the safety of all working in production areas.
  • Maintains order and cleanliness of production work areas.
  • The use of computer-based systems to generate production instructions, to report production and receive and ship materials.
  • Supports QC function by performing in process testing on products
  • The receipt and shipment of bulk raw materials and finished products including loading and unloading operations.
  • Packages finished products into totes and drums
  • Performs batch reconciliation for raw materials used to create a batch of finished product.
  • Uses fork lifts to bring materials to and take materials away from the production area

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a chemical/manufacturing/production environment

• Willingness and ability to lift 50 lbs, walk up & down ladders and stairs and be mobile most of your shift

• Must be willing to work either shift Monday - Friday 4am-12noon or 11:30am-7:30pm depending on business need

  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years of chemical/batch production/manufacturing experience

• SAP or other enterprise management system experience

• Experience with the use of automated process systems i.e. DCS / PLC

Compensation is commensurate with experience

You should be proficient in:

  • Forklift Licensed
  • Machine Setups for Production Runs
  • Manual Machining Skills
  • High School / GED
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Basic Computer Skills
