Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Chemical Plant Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used in our chemical production processes. This role is crucial to ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of chemical products that meet our company's standards and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor chemical processing and production equipment safely and efficiently
Follow established operating procedures, safety guidelines, and production requirements
Monitor gauges, instruments, temperatures, pressures, and other operating conditions
Perform routine inspections and make adjustments to equipment as needed
Load, unload, transfer, and handle raw materials and finished products
Maintain accurate production and operational records
Perform quality checks and report any abnormalities or equipment issues
Assist with equipment cleaning, basic maintenance, and plant housekeeping
Follow all OSHA, company, and plant safety requirements
Properly use required PPE and follow chemical handling procedures
Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and other plant personnel
Qualifications
Previous experience in chemical processing, manufacturing, production, refinery, petrochemical, or industrial operations preferred.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, including days or nights.
Comfortable working around chemicals and in a plant/industrial environment.
Strong attention to safety and detail.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to read gauges, meters, and basic operating instructions.
Must be dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance.
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the plant for extended periods.
Capable of lifting and moving heavy materials and equipment as necessary.
Comfortable working in environments with exposure to chemicals, heat, and noise.
