Location: Wheatfield, NY

Company: Saint-Gobain Ceramics - Ekonol Facility

Position Type: Full-Time | Union Position

Hourly Rate: $28.42 per hour, plus shift differential: Afternoon Shift Differential: $.75/hr

Mid-night Shift Differential: $..85/hr

Hours: The position generally works an 8-hour rotating shift (days, afternoons, overnights) Monday to Friday. Overtime on the weekend, at times. Though this is the current schedule, shifts are subject to change based on business conditions. Candidates must be flexible to work any shift as assigned. The right candidate is interested and happy to work overtime.

Saint-Gobain is a global leader in sustainable materials and innovative manufacturing solutions. We are seeking a Chemical Operator to join our Ekonol production team in Niagara Falls, NY. In this hands-on manufacturing role, you will safely operate chemical processing equipment, monitor production processes, perform product testing, and ensure the efficient production of high-quality resin products.

What You'll Do

As a Chemical Operator, you will:

• Operate reactors, mixers, pumps, transfer systems, and related manufacturing equipment
• Monitor and adjust process conditions to ensure safe and efficient production
• Weigh, transfer, charge, and mix raw materials according to established procedures
• Document batch records, process conditions, and production data
• Perform in-process quality testing and inspections
• Conduct laboratory testing, including particle size analysis and other quality verification methods
• Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipment
• Load and unload raw materials and finished products
• Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment
• Assist with inventory counts and general plant housekeeping
• Handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
• Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures
• Support training and onboarding activities as needed

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic computer skills
• Basic math skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and follow written procedures
• Ability to safely work with chemicals and industrial equipment
• Ability to perform physical work including lifting, climbing stairs, and working on elevated platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical, scientific, or manufacturing-related field
• Previous manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial production experience
• Experience working with hazardous materials
• Forklift certification or prior forklift operation experience

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing and laboratory environment and requires:

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and respiratory protection as required
• Exposure to industrial process equipment, chemicals, and production environments
• Standing, walking, lifting, and material handling throughout the workday
