Job Description

The Chemical Operator is responsible for following specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and formulas to run chemical batching equipment. This role involves gathering raw materials, making correct measurements, and running the appropriate chemical processes. The operator will also be responsible for storing finished goods, organizing and storing raw materials, and managing shipments of finished products. Additionally, the role includes working with customers on orders and coordinating with vendors to order raw materials. Electronic systems such as Excel and DataCore are used to track raw materials, inventory, finished good inventory, and production data.

Responsibilities

• Follow specific SOPs and formulas to run chemical batching equipment.
• Gather raw materials and make precise measurements.
• Run chemical processes and store finished goods.
• Organize and store raw materials and ship out finished products.
• Work with customers on orders and coordinate with vendors to order raw materials.
• Use electronic systems like Excel and DataCore to track inventory and production data.
• Make various products such as coolants, antifreeze, water-based binders, solid products, rust inhibitors, and solder fluxes.
• Use fiberglass mixing systems for caustic chemical compounds.
• Collaborate with lab personnel to ensure quality control of products.
• Replenish raw materials and finished goods inventory.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in chemical operations and manufacturing.
• Experience with mixing, compounding, and batching processes.
• Ability to follow chemical compounding formulas accurately.
• Strong communication skills for customer and vendor interactions.
• Familiarity with Excel and DataCore for inventory management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or food manufacturing.

Work Environment

This role is set in a chemical manufacturing environment and a chemistry/materials science lab. 90% of the time will be spent in the chemical compounding area. The position operates on a first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30/4:30 pm, with the possibility of working up to 45 hours if additional work is required. You will work closely with one other team member who has been in the role for about 3 to 4 years. The work environment is typical of a Wisconsin blue-collar setting, with a focus on teamwork and dedication.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
