Chemical Process Engineer, Vehicle Coating Systems

At NPAA, our coatings protect and beautify vehicles around the world. As a Chemical Process Engineer for our coating systems, you’ll be the go-to partner on the floor—guiding processes, elevating quality, and ensuring safe, reliable operations within our Operations Department.

How you’ll make a difference

Picture this: a new efficiency initiative launches in the morning, a vendor demo for a mixer upgrade at noon, and a layout redesign review by afternoon. You close the day by validating a revised production procedure and documenting results for standard work. That’s impact—measured in higher first-pass yield, smoother flow, and tangible cost savings.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and process control systems to boost batch quality, cut costs, strengthen reliability, and support quality programs.
• Design and run tests on new and existing production procedures; translate findings into improved standards.
• Plan, organize, and manage workflows and resources to meet demand.
• Improve facility layouts, production lines, machine operations, and network performance for maximum efficiency.
• Remove production barriers and resolve delays with urgency.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to deliver improvements.
• Ensure all manufacturing procedures align with safety and environmental regulations.
• Drive modernization by upgrading systems and processes with appropriate technologies.
• Coordinate and facilitate multiple efficiency initiatives through to realized, quantified benefits.
• Develop your capabilities while executing small capital projects from business case to startup.
• Engage vendors to define specifications, procure equipment/materials/parts, and evaluate products to quality standards.
• Work with in-house maintenance and external contractors to complete repairs and enhancements.
• Assess space and workflow needs; design equipment and workspace layouts for top productivity.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field (required).
• 3+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar role (preferred).
• Proven organization and ability to manage multiple projects at once (required).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication (preferred).

Compensation, benefits & culture

Position Salary: $67,912.00 to $107,244.80
