Follow all policies related to the storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals. Proactively identify and report potential safety issues, and then participate in process improvements.

Be directly involved in the manufacturing of innovative scientific technologies that improve the lives of others. You will weigh, measure, prepare, mix, monitor, and adjust chemicals when making stock solutions and other products for life science research. You will learn to perform in-line product testing to resolve issues such as pH or conductivity as identified. 

Maintain a thorough understanding of required policies, procedures, quality standards, good manufacturing practices, and safety/environmental requirements, keep accurate records, and demonstrate good documentation practices. 

Perform basic troubleshooting of processes. Perform decontamination and prepare equipment for maintenance. Communicate inventory, planning, and quality issues to supervisor or appropriate department partner.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

  • Champion the site’s safety culture by following all policies and recommend improvements. Proactively identify and report potential issues. Uphold housekeeping standards, identify safety risks, and prepare equipment for safe maintenance. 
  • Follow all procedures when handling chemicals to ensure they are stored, transported, processed, labeled, and disposed of according to regulations. Protect waste streams with precise handling and disposition of hazardous waste. 
  • Deliver accurate, high-quality production output by precisely weighing, mixing, and adjusting materials to meet batch requirements, while actively monitoring pH, conductivity, and product specifications. 
  • Ensure compliance and traceability through timely, accurate documentation, SAP transactions, proper labeling, and adherence to validated work instructions and procedures. 
  • Drive operational reliability and improvement by troubleshooting equipment and process issues, communicating cross-functional concerns, and recommend enhancements to procedures and overall process performance. 
  • Position requires forklift training/qualification and routine use of respirators (cartridge, full-face supplied air). 

What You Bring: 

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree with a chemical/biological background is preferred. 
  • Work Experience: 0-3 years of production experience required, preferably in a regulated environment. Experience with chemical reactors and/or working in compliance with hazardous material regulations and wastewater handling is a plus. 
  • Basic analytical skills and solid math skills are required, with the ability to convert units of measure and calculate ratios. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools - Excel and Word are required. Experience working with ERP systems, SAP is a plus. 
  • The ability to speak, read and write using business communication skills is required. (English).
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to manage and prioritize tasks.

Location: This position must be based in Richmond, CA and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $23.13 to $31.78 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
