Chemical Processing Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Chemical Processing Specialist to join our team in Akron, Ohio. This position is ideal for candidates with manufacturing or industrial cleaning experience who are committed to building a long-term career. Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Pay:
$20.00/hour (raise to $23 once hired in)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and prepare cans, tubs, and tanks using solvents and manual tools
  • Ensure all materials are fully removed from containers and equipment
  • Properly identify, separate, and store cleaned and unwashed containers
  • Follow batch and packaging tickets to correctly fill batches by size or weight
  • Wrap and label filled batches for shipment
  • Submit required documentation and batch tickets after completion
  • Communicate with production staff to prioritize cleaning and filling tasks
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment safely
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in manufacturing or chemical processing preferred
  • Ability to read and follow batch and packaging instructions
  • Batch mixing or chemical handling experience preferred
  • Basic math skills for measurements and recordings
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs frequently
  • Comfortable using ladders, forklifts, and working in a manufacturing environment
  • Must wear personal protective equipment including steel-toed boots and respirators

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Batch mixing experience
  • Industrial cleaning background
  • Experience in food manufacturing or chemical processing industries

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, or related fields

Other Requirements:
  • Must wear PPE including steel-toed boots and respirators
  • Ability to work on-site; physical mobility for lifting and operating equipment

This is a contract-to-hire position based in Akron, Ohio. The shift starts promptly at 8:00 am and ends at 4:30 pm, with a pay rate of $20/hour.
