Marketech International Corporation USA is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Permit / Design Engineer to support engineering design coordination, permitting, compliance, and construction execution for large-scale semiconductor facility projects. This role is responsible for helping turn engineering concepts into approved, construction-ready project packages by coordinating drawings, permit submissions, AHJ comments, design revisions, and project documentation.The ideal candidate has experience in design engineering, permitting, construction coordination, or project support and is ready to grow from a coordinator into a project driver. This position requires strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and the ability to work across internal teams, contractors, clients, and local authorities to keep projects moving forward efficiently and compliantly.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and update engineering drawings, layouts, and construction documents for facility systems.Support design development for utility systems and related semiconductor facility infrastructure.Coordinate with internal engineering teams, contractors, clients, and project stakeholders to align requirements, schedules, and deliverables.Review design packages for accuracy, completeness, and readiness for permit submission or construction execution.Assist with drawing markups, document revisions, design clarifications, and coordination between engineering and field teams.Maintain organized design documentation and ensure project records are updated throughout the project lifecycle.Manage permit applications, plan check submissions, and approval processes with local authorities and Authorities Having Jurisdiction, also known as AHJs.Track permit status, monitor approval timelines, and follow up on pending submissions to support project schedules.Review and coordinate responses to AHJ comments, plan check corrections, and required design revisions.Support compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards, including IBC, IFC, NEC, NFPA, and other relevant requirements.Maintain organized records of permits, approvals, regulatory documents, plan check comments, and submission history.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure permit packages are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.Project Support & ExecutionSupport construction and field teams by helping resolve design-related issues during project execution.Participate in project meetings and provide updates regarding design progress, permitting status, outstanding comments, and approval timelines.Assist with change order documentation, as-built drawings, closeout packages, and final project records.Coordinate between engineering, construction, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives to support smooth project execution.Identify opportunities to improve design workflows, permitting processes, documentation tracking, and approval timelines.Help ensure project work is completed in alignment with approved drawings, code requirements, client expectations, and internal standards.Required Qualifications2+ years of experience in design engineering, permitting, construction coordination, project engineering, or a related field.Experience preparing, reviewing, or coordinating engineering drawings, construction documents, permit packages, or technical submittals.Familiarity with local permitting processes, AHJ coordination, plan check comments, and construction documentation.Working knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards such as IBC, IFC, NEC, NFPA, or similar.Proficiency with design and document review tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, or similar software.Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple permits, drawings, revisions, and project deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, construction, contractors, clients, and regulatory authorities.Detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.Experience supporting semiconductor, industrial, manufacturing, cleanroom, data center, or mission‑critical facility projects.Experience working with utility systems, facility infrastructure, MEP systems, or construction design packages.Experience coordinating directly with AHJs, city reviewers, inspectors, or permitting departments.Knowledge of as‑built documentation, change orders, construction closeout, and field coordination.Bilingual English/Mandarin Chinese is a plus, but not required.Engineering and construction document coordinationPermit tracking and AHJ coordinationCode and compliance awarenessDrawing review and technical documentationCross‑functional communicationProblem‑solving and issue resolutionAttention to detail and documentation accuracyAdaptability in fast‑moving project environmentsOwnership, accountability, and follow‑throughThis role may involve a combination of office‑based engineering coordination and project site support.
