Schedule- 8am-5pm Temp to hire
Nature / Purpose of the Job
The main focus of the Chemical Technician is on the wet processes of the facility. These include electroplating, chemical stripping, effluent treatment, gas abatement / scrubbing systems, chemical waste and storage.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain Chemical specification of the pre-treatment processes and the pre-treatment equipment operation.
- Regular chemical analysis of the solutions and materials used in production.
- Troubleshooting production problems.
- In cooperation with the team develop and implement improvements and failure preventative measures for the pre-treatment processes to enhance the production yield.
- Chemical responsibility for the effluent’s neutralization, precipitation and other processing, to ensure company compliance with the environmental regulations.
- Implementation of the relevant work instructions, where necessary, propose updates and improvements to the pre-treatment processes and the work instructions.
- Perform Health and Safety and Chemical risk assessment of the chemicals and processes.
- Record keeping and reporting
- Providing technical support to the company production personnel.
- Responsible for duties as detailed in the company’s quality and environmental manuals
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualification in Chemistry (associate’s degree)
- Relevant production experience in metal plating industry would be beneficial
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to identify and develop improvements in pre-treatment processes.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Good written reporting and communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to details.
- Experience and skills in Chemical Analysis.
- ability to work in a team as well as alone, achieving objectives and deadlines.
- Familiarity with chemical handling safety requirements, quality control.
