Position Summary

We are looking for a technically sharp and hands-on Chemist to join our team in Corona. This role sits at the intersection of formulation chemistry, quality control, and process support. You will work closely with engineering, production, and R&D to ensure our elastomer compounds meet strict performance and quality standards while contributing to ongoing product development and improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate, mix, and evaluate silicone and EPDM elastomer compounds for production and development purposes
  • Conduct lab testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to verify compliance with internal and customer specifications
  • Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and testing protocols
  • Troubleshoot formulation and processing issues on the production floor and recommend corrective actions
  • Support new product development by conducting literature research, running trials, and documenting results
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements
  • Track and report test data accurately using lab management or ERP systems
  • Assist in managing chemical inventory, safety data sheets, and regulatory compliance documentation
  • Maintain a safe, organized laboratory environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in polymer chemistry, elastomer compounding, rubber chemistry, or a related manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with silicone or EPDM materials is a strong advantage
  • Experience with analytical instruments such as rheometers, tensile testers, hardness testers, and FTIR
  • Solid understanding of quality control methodologies and documentation practices
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or LIMS systems is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
