Summary:
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Duration: 7 Months
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and implement it in work design.
Prepare polymer samples and standards for testing, including compression molding, melt flow testing, tensile testing, and other physical characteristics testing for polymers.
Operate and maintain analytical equipment; run instruments accurately per established methods, calibrate regularly, and troubleshoot issues.
Ensure equipment adheres to manufacturer standards and safety regulations.
Collect test data, review findings for accuracy, and report through established systems.
Perform other duties as assigned under general supervision.
Exercise a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
Requirements:
Associate degree or higher, or equivalent job experience.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
