Chemist

Job Description

The Chemist is responsible for performing routine and non-routine quality tests to ensure the quality and further the development of pharmaceutical platforms. This role involves working with primary instrumentation such as HPLC, UPLC, and GC while adhering to Good Lab Practices (GLP) regulatory requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preparation, collection, measurement, and recordkeeping of samples.
  • Document test and data analysis results accurately.
  • Support development areas as needed and assist in commercial QC release.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to meet schedule requirements.
  • Apply knowledge to elucidate test method failures.
  • Analyze, deduce, and collate test results.
  • Prioritize customer requests and ensure timely completion.
  • Drive the team to meet business objectives and understand the manufacturing organization that the lab supports.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s Degree in Chemistry or related science.
  • 12+ months of experience in chemistry within medical device or pharmaceutical industries.
  • 12+ months of experience with GMP/cGMP.
  • 12+ months of chromatography experience (HPLC, GC, UPLC), wet chemistry, and analytical chemistry.

Work Environment

The lab functions as a shared service for various businesses and supports devices within the QC pharma space that have a drug component. The team consists of approximately 25 people and works closely with the analytical development lab. The environment emphasizes professional development, providing opportunities for internal growth.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
