Job Title: Chemist III
Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Pay Range : $38.00 to $40.00 per hour

- Strong technical background in analytical chemistry, excellent analytical problem-solving skills. Capable of independently developing and troubleshoot analytical methods.
- Hands on experience with chromatography method development (HPLC and Gas Chromatography) and analysis expertise and fundamental understanding of Mass Spectrometry Experience with peptide characterization and analysis is preferred.
- High-quality written and oral communication skills and ability to interact effectively with interdisciplinary scientists and engineers.
- Practical knowledge of organic structure, functional groups, chemistry, and modern spectroscopic techniques as applied to small-molecule, and/or peptide analytical analysis.
- Some familiarity of GMP and GLP and/or understanding of working in regulated environment.
Experience, education, and/or certification is required.
- Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry typically with minimum 5+ years related industry or academic experience.
What is a nice to have.
- Hands-on experience with dissolution method development and analysis.
- Experience in pharma, specifically with analytical characterization and testing of drug products (solid oral dosages - immediate and extended release formulations).
- Knowledge of stability study, trending analysis, and impurity profiling for complex peptides products.
Job Description:
- Apply analytical separation and detection modes for complex impurity profiling of pharmaceutical products to further the understanding of emerging cGMP manufacturing processes.
- Plan and execute assigned laboratory tasks utilizing standard procedures and technical understanding of various techniques to complete assigned tasks.
- Independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner. Document the experimentation per the regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills and should possess understanding of core discipline.
- Develop protocols for more complex tests or experiments performed with less defined assays and parameters.
- Ensures safety and GxP requirements are met when performing tasks.
- Ensures timely and GxP compliant delivery of high-quality precise data.
- Apply basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and instrument related systems.
- Presents findings of defined experiments to larger audiences.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineer, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Biology or related field – BA/BS with minimum 5+ yrs lab experience (pharmaceutical industry preferred); master’s degree with minimum 2 yrs lab experience (pharmaceutical industry preferred); PhD degree with 5+ years of academic and/or industry research experience.
- Experienced use of analytical instruments including HPLC, Gas Chromatography, LC/MS, and chromatography data systems (i.e., Empower, Openlab, Chromeleon).
- Strong documentation skills, familiarity of GMP, GLP. Able to present experimental findings to larger groups. Strong communication skills.
