The Chemist/Nuclear Chemist supports Air Force missions through research and scientific breakthroughs, addressing high-level technical challenges to enhance safety and effectiveness.
- Develops new techniques and policies in chemistry, biochemistry, and weapons of mass destruction
- Coordinates research with various agencies
- Manages scientific programs and projects
- Serves as a technical consultant on committees
Training includes Officer Training School (8.5 weeks at Maxwell AFB).
Key requirements: a bachelor's degree in chemistry or related fields, knowledge of chemistry principles, acquisition course completion, relevant experience or advanced degrees, a current SSBI, and successful completion of Officer Training. Must be aged 18-42.
