In this position, you will assist the lab safety coordinator with laboratory work including, but not limited to lab maintenance, restocking lab equipment, running safety showers, lab prep and set- up/tear down.
Expectations
Run safety shower on a weekly basis.
Prep, set up/tear down Gen Chem I, II, and Intro labs as assigned.
Clean up and put away supplies, chemicals, and equipment as assigned.
Inventory chemicals as directed.
Show up to lab on time with appropriate attire see; the Lab Safety Agreement.
Support the chemistry department with lab cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be a current Bethel student.
A reference from a staff or faculty member in the department is recommended but not required to apply.
Work Environment
Laboratory work as directed by the lab safety coordinator.
Physical Demands
Must be able to remain standing for extended periods (2+ hours).
Must be able to push and pull heavy carts.
The student worker will work with hazards associated with the labs that they work in, and must follow all safety protocols.
Expected Hours of Work
2 hours minimum.
Start Date
Beginning of the semester.
End Date
End of the semester.
Hourly Wage: $14.25
