Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for helping the driver load chicks at the hatchery, monitor the temperature and air flow on the truck. Help off load the chicks in to the houses on the assigned farms to assure the best quality chick possible. Other duties included but are not limited to helping position trucks on farms for unloading, help wash and disinfect trucks daily after delivery, do other odd jobs in hatchery while waiting for loads.
Duties and Responsibilities listed below include, but are not limited to:
Will load trucks at hatchery, travel to farms to help deliver chicks, return empty carriers to hatchery and wash chick carries after return from hatchery. The nature of the position is very physical.
Must be able to lift/push 100+lbs.
Must possess good decision making ability.
As trucks are heated for chick transport, some mechanical abilities in the area would be preferred if repairs to the vehicle were needed while in transit.
May also be required to do other Hatchery related jobs.
Good work ethics and able to work as a team with other drivers and Hatchery employees.
Able to work in hot and dusty environments.
Start times vary with seasons. Some days maybe more than 10 hours.
Other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
