  • Coordinate with Back of House leadership to ensure efficient restaurant operations
  • Build a healthy, accountable, and engaging team culture

Back of House Director

The Back of House Director is responsible for leading food production while maintaining high standards for food safety, quality, efficiency, cleanliness, and financial stewardship.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead Back of House operations during peak and non-peak periods
  • Ensure food is prepared safely, accurately, and according to Chick-fil-A quality standards
  • Maintain strong food safety and sanitation practices
  • Coach Team Members and leaders on proper procedures and performance expectations
  • Build schedules and deploy Team Members effectively
  • Manage food cost, waste, inventory, productivity, and controllable expenses

  • Develop Shift Leaders, Captains, and emerging leaders
  • Use restaurant data to identify operational or financial gaps and implement solutions
  • Coordinate with Front of House leadership to ensure timely and accurate service
  • Build a healthy, accountable, and engaging team culture

  • Communicate expectations clearly and follow through consistently
  • Coach, develop, and hold other leaders accountable
  • Use performance data to identify problems and implement sustainable solutions
  • Contribute to restaurant goals and strategic priorities
  • Protect the safety of guests and Team Members
  • Participate in leadership meetings and development opportunities
  • Support hiring, training, retention, and performance management
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and remain composed under pressure
  • Work collaboratively with other Directors and senior leadership
  • Perform operational duties when necessary to support the restaurant

Required Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant leadership experience

  • Demonstrate humility, initiative, discipline, and teachability
  • Protect the restaurant’s culture while continuously improving the business
