Chief Building Engineer - Downtown Seattle

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily facility operations and building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety.
• Lead, train, and supervise a small engineering team to ensure efficient performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Coordinate and monitor all building repair and renovation projects from inception to completion.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and resolve building-related issues quickly to minimize disruption.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to building operations and safety.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, prepare reports, and manage building documentation for audits and inspections.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a building engineer or in a related role, in commercial properties.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of safety protocols, codes, and regulations applicable to commercial buildings.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with tenants, vendors, and management.
