Bring your vision, expertise, and commitment to integrity to Northeast Georgia Health System.

Shape the strategy. Champion integrity. Advance a mission that matters.

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) seeks an accomplished healthcare compliance executive to serve as its next Chief Compliance Officer. This is a significant opportunity to guide enterprise compliance strategy, influence executive decision-making, and strengthen the trust at the heart of our mission: improving the health of our communities.

Reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the NGHS senior leadership team, the Chief Compliance Officer will lead ethics, privacy, and internal audit compliance efforts. This leader will bring strategic vision, independent judgment, and a collaborative approach to helping NGHS navigate complex requirements while supporting its organizational and clinical priorities.

An Opportunity to Make a Lasting Impact

The Chief Compliance Officer will partner with executive leaders, physicians, Legal, Human Resources, and operational teams to build a proactive, effective compliance program. Success will require a leader who can anticipate risk, translate complex requirements into practical guidance, and inspire accountability throughout the organization.

    • Advance enterprise compliance strategy: Lead a comprehensive program addressing applicable federal and state healthcare requirements, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
    • Strengthen oversight and accountability: Provide meaningful reporting and guidance to the Compliance Oversight Committee, executive leadership, and Board of Trustees.
    • Identify and address risk: Direct risk assessments, coding and billing audits, monitoring, investigations, and corrective action plans.
    • Champion ethics and privacy: Promote the Code of Conduct, strengthen privacy practices, and oversee the Compliance Hotline and other reporting mechanisms.
    • Lead critical compliance commitments: Oversee implementation and administration of the Corporate Integrity Agreement in partnership with the CEO.
    • Build organizational capability: Develop education for employees, executives, and board members that makes compliance an integral part of daily decisions.

    The Leader We Seek

We seek a credible, strategic leader who earns trust, communicates with clarity, and brings the courage and judgment to navigate sensitive matters. The ideal candidate combines deep healthcare compliance expertise with the ability to build relationships, develop teams, and balance organizational growth with compliance responsibilities.

    Qualifications include:

    • A master’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field, or a law degree.
    • At least 8–10 years of compliance, legal, financial, and/or audit leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
    • Healthcare management experience and demonstrated understanding of effective corporate compliance and privacy programs.
    • Knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
