The Chief Customer Officer is a key executive leader responsible for all revenue-driving activities across National Accounts and Regional/Retail channels. This role oversees both strategic account management and field execution, ensuring the brand delivers aggressive top-line growth, strong gross margins, and expanded distribution across all channels. This leader will develop the long-term sales vision, manage National and Regional Sales teams, and serve as the primarysource for strategic customer plans, retail execution, and broker network performance. The VP of Sales partners closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and the commercial teams to align on growth targets and bring winning strategies to market.

This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role requiring exceptional judgment, strong team-building skills, and a proven track record of growing challenger brands in the CPG space. The ideal candidate would have a strong National Account background with experience in achieving success in accounts such as Target, Kroger, and Walmart. And this is how you'll do it...

  • National Accounts Leadership. Own relationships and business performance across key national retailers including: Kroger, Albertsons, Publix, Sprouts, Target, Walmart, Costco, and other mass, club, natural, and grocery chains.
  • Support overall growth in our national presence and oversee the VP of National Accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow Net Sales, optimize pricing and pack architecture, and drive effective promotions.
  • Communicate compelling selling stories and differentiated category insights through high-quality proposals and presentations.
  • Use syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen) and retailer-specific insights to identify opportunities, solve customer challenges, and mitigate risks.
  • Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Revenue Management to maximize trade spend ROI and ensure winning customer programs.
  • Oversee the Regional Sales organization, including a network of broker partners.
  • Support expansion and growth in regional chains and oversee the VP of Regional Sales.
  • Ensure alignment on call points for key retailers and ensure strong broker execution for Tier 2 & Tier 3 accounts.
  • Drive ACV build against leadership-defined distribution targets while ensuring excellence in retail execution and compliance.
  • Strengthen strategic relationships with regional retail buyers and field decision-makers.
  • Lead accurate forecasting and demand planning in partnership with Operations and Finance.
  • Monitor category trends, competitor activities, and retail dynamics to inform strategy and adjust execution as needed.
  • Build, mentor, and elevate a high-performing sales organization across National Accounts and Regional Sales teams. Develop clear goals, KPIs, and performance plans for sales teams and brokers.
  • Serve as a critical thought partner to the Chief Commercial Officer and executive leadership team.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree or relevant experience required
  • 10+ years progressive sales leadership experience within a CPG required
  • Must be self-motivated, coachable, and highly organized with a strong desire to grow and produce results
  • Proven success and track record for leading national sales teams and supporting organizational growth
  • Track record of driving high growth at an emerging/challenger brand.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Develop and present creative and results oriented presentations to key customers.
  • Team player who easily works cross-functionally and effectively with a wide variety of business professionals and team members
  • Must have a passion for brand building and long-term growth.
  • Must be computer efficient in Microsoft Office, customer specific sales reporting as well as syndicated IRI and/or Nielsen data.
  • Travel 50% - 75% of the time

Budget for the role is from $250k+ base dependent upon experience, bonus, Car Allowance, Equity and Benefits!
