Title: Chief Data Center Engineer, AI + HPC Facilities

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)

Employment: Full-time
About the Role
A well-capitalized technology platform is building and operating next-generation high-performance computing (HPC) facilities designed for advanced AI/ML and simulation workloads. We are hiring a Chief Data Center Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority across facility engineering, with accountability for design standards, technical decision-making, and performance optimization.

This role is ideal for a deeply technical leader who thrives as a hands-on problem solver and engineering owner, shaping how high-density compute environments are designed, commissioned, and operated for long-term reliability and efficiency.
What You ll Tackle
  • Own engineering authority for HPC facility design, construction support, commissioning, and operational optimization
  • Define engineering standards, design baselines, and reference architectures across power, cooling, controls, and resiliency
  • Drive high-density compute readiness (air and liquid cooling considerations, heat rejection, integration rigor)
  • Lead cross-discipline engineering reviews to ensure systems integrate cleanly end-to-end
  • Establish KPI frameworks for reliability, performance, and efficiency, and drive continuous improvement
  • Govern engineering change management and technical risk mitigation across the facility lifecycle
  • Partner with operations to improve maintainability, uptime, and asset performance
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into practical design and operating decisions
  • Interface with EPCM partners, OEMs, and third-party experts for design validation and QA/QC
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulatory requirements
What You Bring
  • 10+ years in mission-critical data center engineering and/or operations (HPC or hyperscale preferred)
  • Demonstrated depth across power, cooling, resiliency, and high-density compute infrastructure
  • Strong technical leadership and decision-making across multiple stakeholders and disciplines
  • Experience building engineering governance: standards, baselines, change control, performance KPIs
  • Comfort operating as a senior IC and technical authority (not purely a people-manager role)
Nice to Have
  • Experience with on-site power generation supporting mission-critical environments
  • Familiarity translating AI/ML workload demands into power and cooling requirements
  • Greenfield build experience with commissioning/go-live ownership
How We Work
  • High-ownership, high-accountability environment
  • Engineering rigor with practical execution focus
  • Close partnership with operators, builders, and technical stakeholders
  • Clear standards, measurable performance targets, continuous improvement mindset
