Job Description

Construction Trades Staffing has partnered with a leading hospitality management group to recruit an experienced Chief Engineer / Hotel Engineer to support multiple hotel properties in Buffalo, Cheektowaga, and Williamsville, NY. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance leader who excels in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe, efficient hotel operations.

 


 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily hotel maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems.
  • Lead and mentor maintenance technicians across assigned properties
  • Perform routine inspections of guestrooms, public spaces, equipment rooms, and exterior areas.
  • Manage and execute a full preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Respond quickly to guest-impact maintenance issues and resolve them professionally.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors; ensure all work meets safety and brand standards
  • Maintain accurate logs, work orders, inventory, and compliance documentation
  • Support capital improvement projects and property upgrades.

Qualifications

  •  3–5+ years of hotel, commercial, or residential maintenance experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals, and safety documentation
  • Experience supervising maintenance staff preferred.
  • OSHA 10, EPA Universal, or trade certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
