Position Summary:
In accordance with the policies, procedure and standards of Chroma Hospitality and Timberland Highlands Resort, as the Chief Engineer you are responsible for the overall administration and operation of the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities , including all guest rooms, public areas, and back of house spaces. As an EXCOM and head of department, you will be responsible for managing a team of technicians and mechanics, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Overall, you play a critical role in ensuring that the hotels facilities are always on top condition, and that we are providing a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and colleagues alike.
Scopes and Responsibilities:
Works out the necessary concept of yearly preventive maintenance programs
Determines the work priorities and takes care immediate repair of non-functioning equipment
Acts as the subject matter expert and handles emerging problems of bigger issue
Initiates the discussion of the concern with GM and records the taken decisions or procedures
Executes advance computer literacy and handling operating tools
Operates all systems used including SARA, Business Central and other systems that may deem applicable
Provides further assessment on the recurring concerns
Gives direction on the operational setpoint and standards for each equipment and operation · Approves request based on the urgency and budget
Creates policies that are aligned to CHI relative to all Quality Assurance and Control of each projects and maintenance
Initiates and handles the final walkthrough with Department Heads on concerned division, such as HK, F&B, and Rooms
Reports additional concerns not listed in the checklist but are relevant to safety and engineering operations
Finalizes report before submission to management
Initiates new standardized procedures within the department that eases the handling of projects
Reviews and recommends plans and/or projects to be implemented for hotel
Coordinates to concerned departments/vendors in line with the project at hand
Helps co-create and cascade policies and procedures for Energy Management Systems, Energy Performance Indicators and Objectives
Creates priority listing of urgent equipment needed for repair or replacement that is critical to operations
Reviews and finalizes the policies concerned before rolling out for implementation
Projects cost savings, implications and results that are significant to sustainability goals and target
Creates policies that are aligned to CHI released policies and procedures
Finalizes policies and procedures and report it to the top management
Reviews all reports done by Duty Engineer and recommends options for ease of implementation
Assesses impact to personnel, environment, and safety for the job to be done
Conducts walkthrough on a regular basis to check for all hazards related to business, safety and personnel
Qualifications:
Licensed engineer
A minimum of 10 years experience of which 5 years in an international class Hotel/Resort
At least 2 years in a similar position within Asian Region
Knowledge, familiarity and connection with different hospitality organizations
Any training or certification related to your field of expertise
Basic Occupational Safety and Health training · PCO/Managing Head training is an advantage
