Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement long-term organizational strategy
Partner with the Board to establish strategic priorities
Identify opportunities for growth and expanded services
Foster innovation while preserving organizational mission
Operational Excellence
Collaboratively lead day-to-day operations with all executives, directors, managers and coordinators
Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
Improve operational efficiency and organizational performance
Promote continuous quality improvement
Financial Stewardship
Ensure long-term financial sustainability
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Maximize federal, state, and grant funding opportunities
Maintain strong internal controls and fiscal accountability
Clinical Partnership
Work collaboratively with medical leadership to support quality patient care
Promote provider engagement and workforce development
Support initiatives that improve patient outcomes and access
Community Leadership
Serve as the organizations primary ambassador
Build relationships with community leaders, hospitals, schools, government agencies, and partner organizations
Advocate for healthcare access throughout the region
Board Relations
Maintain a transparent and productive partnership with the Board of Directors
Provide timely information and strategic guidance
Support Board governance and committee work
Ensure monthly Board meetings with a quorum of members
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required
Demonstrated success leading complex organizations
Strong financial and operational management experience
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Experience leading organizational change
Commitment to servant leadership and mission-driven healthcare
Preferred
Knowledge of HRSA requirements and federal grant administration
Experience working with governing boards
Grant development and fundraising experience
Credentials and Experience
Required
Bachelors degree
Minimum of ten years of progressive executive leadership experience
Preferred
Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field
FQHC, community health center, rural health, hospital, or integrated healthcare leadership experience
Special Requirements
The employee must be able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination. Requires sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work with a moderate noise level in the work environment is required.
