    Description

    President & Chief Executive Officer

    Physician-Owned, Multi-Site Specialty Medical Group

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina — on-site, with regular travel among regional clinics

    Reports to: Physician Owners

    Employment: Full-time, executive

Compensation: Commensurate with experience — competitive base salary, annual performance incentive, and comprehensive benefits

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A financially strong, privately held, physician-owned specialty medical group is seeking a hands-on President and Chief Executive Officer to lead its next stage of growth and organizational maturity. The group provides complementary medical and behavioral-health services across multiple outpatient locations in the Carolinas and is profitable, entrepreneurial, and actively expanding.

Built by its physician owners through clinical excellence and direct personal involvement, the organization is now ready to transition from a founder-led practice into a professionally managed, scalable medical group — without losing its physician-owned culture, speed, or commitment to patients. This is a visible, engaged leadership role for an operator who will maintain a consistent presence at the Fayetteville headquarters, regularly visit each clinic, and personally drive execution. It is not a remote or purely strategic position.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

Serve as the senior business, administrative, and operational leader and a trusted advisor to the physician owners, translating their vision into a disciplined strategic and operating plan.

Own overall financial performance — build the group's first comprehensive annual budget, forecasting, and monthly reporting, with financial visibility by clinic, provider, and service line.

Lead multi-site clinical operations and develop the clinical-operations leader, clinic managers, and administrative team, establishing repeatable standards and clear accountability.

Drive disciplined growth — plan, launch, and stabilize new clinics; build provider-recruitment and site business cases; and evaluate the return on imaging, ancillary, and facility investments.

Strengthen provider economics — recruiting, onboarding, credentialing, ramp, productivity, and retention of physicians, APPs, and therapists.

Maintain oversight of revenue cycle, credentialing, and outside partners; promote compliance and manage organizational risk.

Build an accountable leadership team and operating cadence while preserving an entrepreneurial, physician-led culture.

    WHAT YOU BRING

Progressive executive or senior operational leadership in a physician group, specialty practice, ambulatory organization, MSO, or comparable multi-site healthcare environment.

Direct P&L accountability for a meaningful operating unit, market, or region (preferably $8M–$10M+ in revenue) and responsibility for multiple outpatient locations and clinical teams.

Strong financial acumen — budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash-flow management, and performance improvement — plus command of physician-practice economics, reimbursement, credentialing, and revenue cycle.

A track record introducing structure, accountability, and repeatable systems into a growing, entrepreneurial organization, and holding managers accountable.

Experience opening, integrating, or materially expanding clinic locations and recruiting/ramping billable providers.

Credibility with physician owners and clinical professionals, and the willingness to maintain a consistent on-site presence in Fayetteville with regional travel.

Preferred: prior COO, Executive Director, President/CEO, Market President, or senior medical-group administrator; leadership in a privately held or physician-owned practice; experience in neurology, psychiatry, behavioral health, or another complex specialty; exposure to imaging, laboratory, therapy, or diagnostic services; multi-state operations; a master's degree (MHA/MBA/MPH) and/or FACHE, FACMPE, or CMPE.

Confidential process. This is a confidential search conducted on behalf of the physician owners by OnDeck Solutions. The employer's identity will be shared with qualified candidates under a mutual confidentiality agreement. To express interest, please submit a confidential résumé to OnDeck Solutions. All inquiries will be handled discreetly. The organization is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
