About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Exhibitions and Collections Officer (CECO) to lead and integrate its exhibitions and collections operations. The CECO will be responsible for the strategic and operational planning, logistics, care, movement, installation, and preservation of the institution's collections and exhibitions. This role requires the ability to ensure the highest professional standards across all related functions, serve as the primary operational partner to the Deputy Director and Chief Curator, and translate curatorial vision into executable plans that are financially responsible and aligned with institutional priorities. The successful candidate will also be involved in long-range planning, budgeting, and will oversee a team of four direct reports.Candidates for the CECO position at the company should have an advanced degree in museum studies, art history, conservation, or a related field, with a preference for at least 10 years of significant, progressively responsible experience in an encyclopedic art museum or large cultural institution. The role demands a leader with a proven track record in managing large operational budgets, experience with capital projects, and a deep commitment to professional ethics, stewardship, and transparency. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and people-oriented leader, adept at project management, and capable of fostering a dynamic, mission-driven environment that supports innovation and meaningful public engagement.
