Chief Financial Officer | Borough Park, NY · $200,000–$250,000

About the Role A growing nonprofit behavioral health organization is looking for a hands-on CFO who's ready to do more than manage the books. This is an operational leadership role at the intersection of healthcare finance, Medicaid reimbursement, and organizational transformation — overseeing a robust portfolio of programs including Article 31, Article 32, CFTSS, HCBS, Peer Support, and Care Management. If you're the kind of leader who gets energized by building systems, driving accountability, and helping mission-driven organizations reach their full potential, this one's worth a close look.

  • Support audits, CFR reporting, compliance, and strategic growth initiatives

Planning & Performance Management

  • Build forecasting, budgeting, break-even, and projection models
  • Develop KPIs across all departments and programs
  • Track profitability, productivity, census growth, staffing ratios, reimbursement trends, and collections
  • Create accountability and performance measurement systems

Systems & Strategy

  • Implement modern financial systems, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Conduct weekly strategy meetings with department heads
  • Oversee grants budgeting, tracking, reporting, and compliance

Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Strong understanding of KPIs, forecasting, operational finance, grants, and reimbursement models
  • Experience implementing financial and operational software systems
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with OMH, OASAS, CFTSS, HCBS, or fee-for-service models a plus
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required for the right candidate
